Introduction

I sit here today to pen my last Critical Thinking message as president of the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses. It is fitting that today is the first day of the New Year. For me, as for many others, this time of year is a time of reflection on things past and a time to look forward and imagine what the future holds. It is a time of year for aligning our compass, for setting goals, consolidating plans and to clarify what we care most about, as individuals and for CACCN as an organization.
